Two changes to the molecule make it attach far less to binding proteins, so it stays in circulation considerably longer than ordinary IGF-1. What IGF-1 LR3 research turns on
IGF-1 LR3 is known in research mainly for growth: it's the long-acting version of IGF-1, the growth factor that does the actual work in the body after growth hormone has sent its signal. In studies it's linked to the building and repair of muscle tissue and to cell growth in general, which is exactly why it gets so much attention in the bodybuilding corner. Because the LR3 variant stays active far longer than ordinary IGF-1, it's more attractive to work with in research. At BasePurity you buy it purely as a research peptide, not for use in humans.
Why binding proteins make the difference
IGF-1 LR3 acts on the same receptor as the body's own IGF-1 and switches on the signals involved in growth and repair there. The difference is in how long it lasts: normally IGF-1 is quickly cleared by binding proteins in the blood, but the change in LR3 lets it escape that. So in research it stays active far longer, around 20 to 30 hours, and acts more strongly than the natural form. Most of the work on this comes from cell and animal studies.
Placed next to ordinary IGF-1
The difference between IGF-1 LR3 and "ordinary" IGF-1 isn't in what it does, but in how long and how strongly. Natural IGF-1 is quickly cleared in the body and only briefly active; the LR3 variant is modified to evade that clearance, making it several times more potent and far longer-lasting. For research that's convenient, because one administration lasts longer. Important: the natural IGF-1 that doctors measure in blood is a different story from this research variant, we supply only the LR3 research compound.
The link beneath growth hormone
IGF-1 doesn't stand alone: it's the substance through which growth hormone does much of its work. Give the body more growth-hormone signal, for example in research with a GHRH analogue like CJC-1295 or a secretagogue like ipamorelin, and the liver makes more IGF-1. IGF-1 LR3 puts that final step in place directly, without the detour via growth hormone. If you want the upstream side of that axis, you'll find CJC-1295 and ipamorelin on their own in our range.

We deliberately leave the amount open: IGF-1 LR3 is a research compound, and we don't provide human dosing advice. It's a potent protein used in research in very small, microgram amounts, usually after reconstitution with bacteriostatic water or a mild acetic acid solution. What is known about tolerability?
Because IGF-1 LR3 acts on blood sugar and cell growth, its risk profile is more serious than that of many other peptides. The literature mainly notes hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar), water retention and, with prolonged or high use, the risk of unwanted growth of tissues and organs. That's exactly why it belongs in a controlled research setup and not in personal use.
What is legally allowed?
